Borohrádek

Church of St. Michaela

The original two-manual pneumatic discharge instrument was built by Josef Vanický of Třebechovice in 1898 (Op. 88) into an artistically interesting pseudo-Baroque organ case. The layout was modified by the Kubát brothers in 1969. The instrument was in a state of disrepair and was not used for many decades.
In 2015, the organ was rebuilt by organ builder Petr Fischer from Svojšovice near Prague for CZK 400,000. The instrument has a conical airbox, supplemented by one multiplex airbox, operated by a direct magnet. The tone and register tract is electric, the playing table is built into the side of the original organ case. The two-manual instrument was rebuilt using usable pipes by Josef Vanický and supplemented with older pipe stock from several decommissioned organs. The electric tract and especially the air tube, operated by a direct magnet, allows the use of some of the pipe ranks in the form of extensions and transmissions.
The organ case from 1898 was restored by Patrik Rosa from Červený Kostelec for CZK 190,000. The reconstruction was financed by the Hradec Králové Region (207,000 CZK), the town of Borohrádek (100,000 CZK) and a number of small donors.
