A detailed record of the organ’s construction has been preserved in the parish chronicle: “Until 1794 there was no organ here, only a positive one borrowed from Lično. And it happened that two new pillars were added under the choir and the organ was made by Jiřík Španiel, who worked on it for one and a half years and in 1795 on 15 December it was actually built and 500 gold coins were paid to him. And the said organ builder, during the whole of the six Sundays that he was building and shading them, with his journeyman, received all the food.”
The instrument is built into one richly detailed organ case. Unusual is the range of manuals (C – f3) with a short lower octave. Until then, such a tonal range has only rarely appeared. In 1827 the instrument was repaired by Josef Jiruška from Hradec Králové and in 1845 by Amand Hanisch from Rychnov nad Kněžnou, who made changes to the playing table and the layout. In 1914 the instrument was repaired again and given a new coat of paint. The instrument was restored between 2008 and 2011 by Rudolf Valenta from Zbraslav for the sum of approximately CZK 2,000,000. The original form of the playing table was restored and the original register layout was restored.
